Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis Win Regional to Advance to State Championship

The varsity boys and girls tennis teams both defeated their regional opponents to advance to the FHSAA Class 1A State Championships in Orlando. In a close match, the boys defeated Sagemont (Weston) 4-3. Tony Russell (1), Andrew Dykeman (3), and Ross Weissman (5) won their singles matches to lead the Scots 3-2 heading into the afternoon doubles matches. The doubles team of Nicky Mill and Andrew Dykeman won in two sets to clinch the regional title for the boys.

After finishing runner-ups to district champion American Heritage – Delray, the girls once again faced the Stallions in the regional finals and defeated American Heritage 4-1 to advance to the State Championships. Caroline Hsu (1), Macie Tendrich (2), Ginny Peck-Phillips (4), and Amanda Soo Ping Chow (5) all won their singles matches to clinch the regional title for the girls. Congratulations Scots!
