Match Point Ministries Annual Tennis/Golf Tournament (Serve & Grow)

Spiritually Tough Player- Jasmine Williams  and defending champion Bernardo Schmidt win the 10th Annual MPM/FCA Tennis Tournament at the Coral Ridge Country club in Ft. Lauderdale.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The day started off with former number 4 player in the world and world record holder of the fastest serve on the men’s tour, Roscoe Tanner giving a tennis clinic on what else?

The serve!

This was followed by 24 players competing in an alternating round robin format. Jasmine had some great help along the way, teaming up with number 9 ranked WTA player Brenda Schulz and world record holder of the fastest serve on the women’s tour. Jasmine also played with Van Winitsky formerly ranked number 7 in the world and a former U.S. Open doubles finalist. There were three more rounds with one being with Pascal Spork, and another with Francine, and defending champion from last year Bernardo Schmidt!

Special thanks to Diego Paredes and Ed Duffy who also volunteered their time and to Bill Baumner and Carl Foster!

Carl and Bill did an amazing job of creating and promoting this event.
